Home Remedies for Yeast Infection

Just as fungus lives on the bark and wood of dead trees, so certain types of fungi may also live on the surface of our skin, especially in the moist areas of our body. In certain type of diseases such as diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis, fungus may attack living tissues. Fungus is found in a variety of forms causing many different conditions. Yeast infection is commonly a fungal infection known as Candida. It is found mainly in females.

Vagina is the most common site for yeast infection in women. Though yeast infection can occur in both men and women but it is more prevalent in women. Yeast infection can occur in any part of the body such as underarms, between the toes, genital area etc. Yeast infection increases in women during menstruation, pregnancy, diabetes, when taking birth control pills etc. Yeast infection occurs when acidity level in the vagina decreases which provides favorable conditions for the growth of the fungus.
 
Causes of sun burn

The most important cause of yeast infection is tiny microorganism of fungus that may be present on the surface of the skin If a person comes in contact with an infected person, the other person may develop signs and symptoms of yeast infection. It may be sexually transmitted from one person to another.
 
Signs and symptoms
It is not a serious infection but it should be taken care of. Yeast infection may present itself with itching, burning and redness of the affected part. There is formation of dead skin on the affected part due to insufficient supply of oxygen.

There is great burning and itching of the vagina which may result in pain in the pelvic region.

Women feel great discomfort during yeast infection and it may cause abnormal discharge from the vagina. Genital parts should be thoroughly checked to avoid any serious condition.

Women suffering from yeast infection experience pain during sexual inter course. There is swelling of outer parts which may cause great restlessness.

There is burning sensation while passing urine.
 
Home remedies for yeast infection

Yeast infection can be successfully treated at home by taking some natural home remedies. Some of the important home remedies which are found to be useful are:

Yoghurt is a special and most useful thing that can be used for yeast infection. Women suffering from yeast infection should apply yoghurt in to the vagina as it helps to balance the acid base balance in the vagina.

Hot bath also helps to relieve signs and symptoms associated with yeast infection.

Take some tea tree oil and dilute it. Put some drops of diluted oil on a tampon and insert it inside the vagina. It greatly helps to reduce signs and symptoms of yeast infection.

Take garlic juice; add vitamin E oil and few drops of coconut oil in it. Apply this mixture on the body part affected with yeast other then vagina. Do not apply it on vagina as it may aggravate irritation.

Take few drops of coconut oil and mix it with few drops of cinnamon oil. Apply this mixture of oils on the affected area. It gives a soothing effect to the affected area.
